Vintae is an innovative, young and dynamic project, which involves seven wineries in 6 different Designations of Origin in Spain. The initiative originates in the passion of José Miguel Arambarri Terrero for wine, an entrepreneur from La Rioja who is a connoisseur and lover of the wine world. His vision gave birth to Castillo de Maetierra and Maetierra Dominum, two wineries which spawned Vintae. With the help of his two sons, Ricardo and José Miguel, Vintae came into shape and is at the root of a real revolution in different aspects of the wine-growing industry by representing the avant-garde though a different market approach.
Four wines from four different denominations of origin, created under the influence of the Atlantic climate with indigenous varieties such as Albariño, Godello, Mencía and Hondarrabi Zuri. All share the influence of a cool climate, with constant rainfall, that generates wines with the perfect balance between freshness and acidity
Hacienda López de Haro
Located on a hill in the historic village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Bodega Classica’s (home of the Hacienda López de Haro wines) building rises above a sea of vineyards, flanked by the river Ebro and the Sierra de Toloño. The winery specializes in the production of great aged reds aimed at the quality wine consumer. Bodega Classica bases its philosophy on the taste for simplicity, elegance and experience.
Raúl Acha, technical director at Vintae, knows all Toro soils and vineyards to perfection, an arid region with an extreme climate which has produced some of the strongest wines in the Spanish wine industry. Imbued by biodynamic viticulture, José Miguel Arambarri and Raúl Acha initiated a search for the best vineyards in the area in order to shape Matsu, which in Japanese means “wait” and defines the essence of this project to perfection. As a tribute to nature, Matsu assigns a share of its profits to environmental projects.
Proyecto Garnachas de España
Proyecto Garnachas de España pays homage to a varietal that was relegated to the background for some years and which current consumer tastes have brought back to the limelight. This collection is the result of a very personal project by Raúl Acha which was initiated with the search for vineyards in different areas of Spain that best reflected the essence of Garnacha.
